Identity erosion, personal transformation, loss of self

Project Note :

Who am I when what I loved in me fades away ?
This short strip reflects on identity erosion, not as a metaphor, but as a lived tension.
What does it mean to “remain yourself” after years of shifting, breaking, adapting ? How much of what made you, your softness, your clarity, your joy, survives hardship without vanishing ?
This strip doesn’t aim to dramatize loss, but to hold the weight of having changed to continue, and the uncertain space between survival and betrayal of self.
A fragmented portrait of identity, drifting quietly from what it once was.

Construct
7 panels

Theme :

Soul preservation, identity, digital metaphysics

Project Note :

What happens to the soul when technology promises continuity ?
Construct is a short visual sequence rooted in a recurring theme of science fiction: the possibility of transferring human consciousness into digital vessels. Inspired by a scene in Cyberpunk 2077, particularly the mission Save the Monk, and its televised debate around a relic device preserving the soul via a chip, this comic reframes that question through minimal narration and suspended tension.

Rather than exploring the technical plausibility of such transfer, the strip focuses on the mental residue left by the act : the uncertainty, the philosophical dissonance, the displacement of belief. The format, pared down, almost mute, reflects the liminal state of a being caught between what was and what might persist.

The piece echoes pop culture’s long-standing fascination with digital identity (Ghost in the Shell, The Matrix, Blade Runner), yet remains deeply personal. Here, the “construct” is not a copy, nor a machine, it’s a doubt rendered visible.
